Dear readers:
Hello. My name is Camille la Flamme, and I am otherwise known as Morte Rouge which is French for Red Death, as in The Masque of Red Death or The Phantom of the Opera. I am myself Canadian French - hailing from Bolingbroke, Nova Scotia - although I reside in California. My interests are
The stage. I intend to be a star actress on Broadway when I am an adult, especially in Wicked, The Little Mermaid, Anne of Green Gables, Beauty and the Beast, and My Fair Lady.
Regency novels. Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice alerted me to the fact that, yes, the perfect gentleman must have existed at least once. And the more contemporary author Lauren Willig has come out with a series of dashing spies, Scarlet Pimpernel-style, in the Pink Carnation series.
The Anne of Green Gables series. I will forever adore Lucy Maud Montgomery for bringing Anne Shirley, my very dearest kindred spirit, into the world. Lucy Maud Montgomery also, through Gilbert Blythe, introduced me to the novel concept that one's Romantic Ideal is not always the same person as one's True Love. Also, I have the first book in the series, all three movies, and Before Green Gables by Budge Wilson, which is a charmingly tragical rendition of the eleven years before Anne boards the train to Bright River!
Narnia. My favourite Narnia book has always been Prince Caspian; and I am exceedingly gratified to mention that I was hopelessly in love with the title character even before Benjamin Barnes entered the scene in the recent movie!
I have a LiveJournal which is companion to this account, username "blytheauthoress", which details story news/ previews/ etc.
