Author has written 19 stories for Fruits Basket, Stargate: SG-1, Inuyasha, and D N Angel. Hello! My name is Ashlyn. There isn't a lot I'm going to put on this page, mostly because of crazy stalker people. Not that I've ever had a crazy stalker person stalk me, but hey. Pays to be prepared, eh? (I am not Canadian, I am Australian. I don't mind putting that, because Australia is a big country with many Ashlyns). My Fanfics So, you want to know about my fanfics, eh? Fair enough, I suppose. Here goes! I have the ONLY Mayuko/Uo fic EVAR. Ha! Go on, prove me wrong! And not by writing one, that's cheating. Repetition: My first fanfic. It is shit and I should delete it. Please, don't read it if you like your brain undamaged. Yuki's Dilemma, Petty Squabbles, and Why Shigure Has No Fence: These also suck. They are unrelated oneshots. I wrote them when I was twelve, so that should say something about the quality. Great Lengths: My one and only Stargate fanfic. I've only seen a few episodes of Stargate. Still, from what I remember, I kinda like it. I'm afraid to read it again in case it is also shit. Running: My one attempt at poetry. I am tempted to print it out and burn it. And then make an animation with the file icon burning. Because it's so terribly emofully awful. Nothing against emos, of course. Mallmos on the other hand... Split Personality: Aha, it starts! This is the beginning of my most popular series. I should really redo it, because it's all dialogue. And I know now that all dialogue is icky. However, many people seem to find it amusing, so don't let the dialogue ickyness put you off. Living with an Angel: Yeah... this just never took off. It died. I should really take it down... Lamingtons: My one InuYasha fanfic! It was all right, until the end... I kinda messed up my wording there, I think Anger Management: The sequel to Split Personality, with Kyo in the hot seat! Or psychiatrist's couch, as the case may be. I think my writing was slowly beginning to get better in this one, though it is still mostly all dialogue. Equal and Opposite: More on that later... One Step Closer: Squee! I actually LIKE this one. It is a oneshot and a songfic-in-disguise. Unless you are familiar with Linkin Park, you won't even know it's a songfic. It was fun to write! Cage: I like this one too! It was inspired by the first twenty-five seconds of Cage, by Dir En Grey. Whish is just basically a soft, pretty, mysterious instrumental. Don't ask me how I got that fanfic out of it, because I have no idea. Guilty Pleasures: Oh my, more musical inspiration. This one is actually humorous! I recommend it if you like seeing Ha'ri act like an idiot. Memories of a Past Life: ZOMG, it's not all dialogue! A miracle! And another in my series! The ending is very sudden, and very harsh. Uh... have some tissues handy? Lifeline: My first DNAngel fanfic! Let me just say that I love love LOVE the DNAngel fandom. It is still small, and not overrun with as many idiots as Fruba seems to be now. This is my first contribution to that fandom, and the story is kind of my baby. Or it would be, if I LIKE that metaphor. I don't, so this story is simply very close to me and I loved writing it. Yes, it is a oneshot. I still love it anyway. False Memories: No matter what, THIS is the end of my series. I will NOT write any more with Yinari. It's not complete yet, but it will be. Facets of Light: My second contribution to DNAngel, and it's about my favourite character ever: Krad. 'Cause Krad is just freakin' awesome. A series of 100 drabbles, or it will be eventually... I think so far I've written about twenty. I'll probably post them in batches. Greyscale: Fic with a twisted ending. Read it. I dare you. Now, about Equal and Opposite... If you look at the date, you can see I stopped writing it a couple of years ago. Buuuuut, recently, someone offered to pay me to write it. I will, of course, post what I end up writing up here; just don't expect any miracles any time soon. I want to finish False Memories first. After that, I'm claiming my money. And, uh, writing. Yeah. Cookies to all. About Me Quitting Yeah, I am quitting. Or I was. Or maybe I still am, I don't know. My decision has been weighing heavily on my mind lately, and I've become a bit unsure as to which direction to take. Perhaps I was too hasty, and I jumped the gun and blamed the wrong thing. I don't know. I'm not sure what's best for me any more, and I honestly can't imagine my life without me contributing to the world of fanfiction in some way. I'm not sure if it really is fanfic that has been stressing me out lately, even. It could just be that school is dragging me down, and if it is just school, I don't want to quit fanfic (which is something I love) due to something completely unrelated. Anyway, I'm not going to stand on this soapbox much longer. I need to make up my mind and then stick to that decision. I'll decide when I finish False Memories- perhaps I'll just take a break from fanfic for a while. Meanwhile, any advice or a friendly word would be much appreciated.
