They screamed but no one heard them , it'd was awful , a nation of children that'd were hungry and poor and yet the worse crimes were done in homes abuse pyshical and mental and one such boy knew that more then any other then Hal Jordan , he had a friend from one of those countries while he grew up in the United States of America in no less then idea circumstance but he had a chance too become sombody unlike his friend who had passed away from hunger , Hal told himself that would never happen to him .

He'd had became a pilot and a engineer of airplanes but one day as he'd was working on a plane a green beam of light had had in fact captured him and he was drawn into it and away from the airport he was working at . He'd found himself standing at a sight of a spacecraft that was alien in configurtion and design , and there was an alien inside of it who was dying ,he wore a dark custom with a latern type design in the center of it and next too him was a latern itself a green one and he wore a ring on one of his hands too . '' May I help you ? '' he asked seeing that the light which had enveloped him had come from the ring itself . He cough , not being able to move '' With this ring I have been fighting all that is evil helping those less fortune then myself I am Green Latern but my time is up and I been searching for someone to replace me my ring knows what is right and wrong you are right Hal Jordan will you help me continue the fight against evil and those who seek to destroy that is right ? ''

Hal remembered his friend and knew if he had a ring like this at the time he would have helped him .

'' Yes ,'' he agreed . He grabbed his ring and placed it on his own finger,'' I am now Hal Jordan Green Latern ,evil is my enemy right is my fight . I will do this I pledge .'' Then he watch the alien die but as he was grabbing the latern he heard a noise and it was the sound of jeeps and a tank coming toward him , in one of the front jeeps he'd saw a heavyset man standing bald and was giving out orders . Then they came to a stop just before the spacecraft . '' Stop , don't move ,who are you ? '' he asked Hal . But using the ring Hal thought himself back to the airport and began his new life fighting crime while still being Hal Jordan pilot and engineer , he made himself a green custom and a mask too .Back at the spacecraft , the heavyset man and the ither men were examining it .

'' Sir what do we do with this ? '' asked a younger man , holding another latern . '' We take it back as well as the spacecraft , I lost my family because of this and whoever that was and I plan on getting my own justice and dues back which are rightfully mind , I swear this because my name is Kingpin . '' When he returned too the airport and made sure no one else was around in the hangar he had bought for his own work and too services he tried out the power ring as he called it and discovered it had had little or no affect on anything yellow . Suddenly an alarm sounded and the airport was populated with armed security officers everywhere and police guardsmen .

He changed his clothes that looked like what the alien wore and even in the middle of it put a latern type insignia on it .

'' Be a good test for this ring . '' Suddenly he heard a noise , he turned , it was his assistant .
