Lucida: A different look to the inumommaxinupappaxizayoi triangle...
BTW, I'm calling Inumomma Migotokamaru, Inupapa Kyouryokumaru and Izayoi is staying Izayoi. Told in the perspective of Migotokamaru.

My mate and I were arranged. So, we frequently take on other loves because all our union is is a union of land. We were always so careful about not having another child with anyone else. Of course, I sometimes wondered if Sesshomaru needed a sibling. He lacked certain social skills. But we ourselves didn't want to share another child. My mate was worried he turn out like me again. Oh, Sesshomaru is the sweetest thing, if you get past that hard glare and attitude of his.
A century or so after our union-(it had been so long, I had forgotten)- my mate brought a young human girl to the castle. She was very lovely and I could see why he wanted to have her as a mistress. I had no problems with it and she and I became somewhat friends. But I always had to watch it and not call her "food" or something like that. My mate was quite possessive of this one.
Then, astounding myself and the rest of the court, the girl became pregnant. At first, I was quite appalled by this but then thought it might help Sesshomaru with his anti-social problem. Another child running around might not be so bad. So, we waited. Humans take forever to bear pups. Nine months, I think it was. I aided her in her labor and out popped this white haired and dog-eared baby, crying his lungs out. He was cute enough for a half-breed. Of course, I didn't let Sesshomaru near him for a bit. Sesshomaru always seemed to dislike Izayoi. I wasn't too sure of how he'd treat her child, even if it was his half-brother. Kyouryokumaru was quite pleased with the child. He has always enjoyed children-especially his. I think this made Sesshomaru mad.
When Inuyasha-(honestly, my mate has no taste in names)- was old enough to play, Izayoi and I would sit in the garden whilst Sesshomaru tried to bear his little brother. I always noticed how Sesshomaru would protect the adventurous Inuyasha if he would get himself in trouble. I do believe that continues to this day. Sesshomaru has his own twisted ways of doing things. Anyway, Sesshomaru even tried to teach Inuyasha self-defense. In his own, twisted way. I don't know what's wrong with that boy. That upset Izayoi quite a bit though. Sesshomaru even got a beating from Kyouryokumaru. I'm not surprised though. I don't think trying to cut your brother in half with your poison whip is the best way to teach him self-defense. I sometimes worry about that boy.
One day, Izayoi decided to take Inuyasha to visit her family, like she did often. I felt somewhat sorry for the dog-eared boy. Really, the only one who played with him was Sesshomaru but that was because Kyouryokumaru made him (supposedly). My mate was off but terrible news came. That bastard Ryukotsusei had come upon the party and had taken the lad and his mother. As soon as Kyouryokumaru heard this, he was off with more anger than I've ever seen him with. Then, I realized it. He was in love with that human girl. I merely smiled though. There wasn't anything between us in all truth. So, I wasn't hurt by it.
But that day, Kyouryokumaru died. Protecting Izayoi and his son. Something changed in Sesshomaru then. I decided to inform Izayoi to stay away from the castle, because of Sesshomaru. I would some times visit her. We were still on good relations. Then, she became ill. Not even the doctors I sent to her would heal her. Eventually, I had to say farewell to my friend. I made sure that she had a lovely burial site and that her son was well protected. Sesshomaru still sought out his brother some times, if only to whip the poor boy. He was also searching for the Tetsaiga. I gave him a playful hint, knowing very well where it was located. But I knew it wasn't meant for him. But he was too thick-headed to realize it. Oh, brothers will be brothers. That's what I always told Izayoi. I still miss her some times. She was a good person to have around the castle.
