A/N: I don't own Inuyasha! oh and some of Ms. Higurashi's thoughts i got from the manga xxxholic where Yuuko talks about destiny, i thought it fit so well here so i decided to use it, i'll put the quote in brackets () so everyone will know.
As the pair entered the house, Ms. Higurashi watched their cheerful expressions. It was like the well had never closed at all.
She made them breakfast, Ramen for the hanyou and fried eggs for Kagome. They sat at the table, love radiating from them both. As she watched them eat their breakfast, she wondered about destiny.
From anyone else's point of view this would seem crazy and wrong, but for her it was a ver clear sign of how destiny works. Kagome and Inuyasha were meant to be together and if it took her daughter falling through a well to 500 years in the past for them to meet, then who was she to question it?
The strings of fate are forever entertwined. (A person's path of life is not only unstoppable, but also neverending. The smallest thing, the shortest amount of time, the littlest piece of record or memory, the fate that accompanies you will never disappear.)
Their love crossed the flow of time, even when fate deemed to seperate them. Ms. Higurashi was brought out of her thoughts by Kagome's laughter-that sweet sound that she thought she'd never hear again.
Apparently ojiichan had taken it upon himself to slap a sutra right in the middle of Inuyasha's forehead while muttering something about it being for old time's sake.
Inuyasha looked like he was going to pounce the old man, but burst out laughing instead.
"I never thought I'd miss that so much!"
Kagome put her arms around him and Inuyasha pressed his lips to her's in a searing kiss. To her it was like everyone else in the room disappeared and all that was left was her and her heart.
The past year was a nightmare. The day she realized the well had closed she spent the whole time crying and flinging herself down it's dark depths hoping it would accept her again. It didn't and she felt herself fall into a void.
She was thankful for her mother for taking care of her and for trying to help her. Without her she would have probably starved to death because she never wanted to leave the wellhouse, just in case it started working again. Her mom had tried to bring her friends to help and that had been a disaster. They just didn't understand. Their reasoning was that it was just one guy and that she could find someone else, someone better. They never once tried to understand her feelings and why she would never choose anyone else. They also tried to push Houjou on her and it ultimately caused her to quit speaking. She figured if she didn't talk back that they would eventually go away. It worked and even Houjou stopped coming.
Shaking away those thoughts Kagome grabbed Inuyasha by the hand and led him up the stairs to her bedroom. Once they were inside she sat down with him on her bed and they held each other for quite sometime before Kagome spoke up.
"Inuyasha, I love you. My world ended the day that we were seperated. I am so glad that we are together again, I don't know how it happened, but who cares. We are together and that is all that matters."
"Kagome, I thought I'd never see you again. Now that we are together again, I never want to leave your side. I have something to ask you." his voice trembled as he spoke.
