i do not own inuyasha. and i don't own the song "Everything" by Lifehouse. le sigh

"I have to hurry, they will be back soon." Inuyasha thought as he dug through Kagome's bag for the items he needed. Satisfied he had what he needed he leapt into the nearest tree to complete his task.

Inuyasha had been pining for Kagome for so long. He loved her, even though it took him unusually long to figure out his feelings, he finally had. Now he just needed a way to tell her how he felt. He had gotten the idea from Kagome herself, with a little help from Shippo. The little kitsune had been curious about the things that Kagome had brought back with her. One item in particular was a cd booklet of an American band that Kagome had come to love. She had been explaining the booklet to the group and even read aloud a few of the songs.

One in particualar caught his interest and he knew he had to copy it down for her. No one knew he knew how to write, but he did. His mother had once told him his handwriting was beautiful for one so young. He set about to his task, pen and paper in hand. He had just finished getting the song down when he heard Miroku crying out in the distance after being pummled with the Hiraikotsu which meant that the girls would be back from the hot springs any second.

He stuffed the paper into his haori and jumped down to meet the girls as they walked into the clearing.

"Inuyasha, are you ready for dinner?" Kagome asked as she put down her bathing supplies.

"Yeh, but first...here." he stumbled out as he shoved the paper in her face.

He then leapt back up into the tree he had been in with a blush staining his cheeks.

"What is this" she asked as she opened up the folded paper.

Kagome, after hearing you read this aloud the other night I knew it described my feelings perfectly. I had to write it down for you.

A tear rolled down Kagome's cheek as she looked up at Inuyasha.

"Oh Inuyasha, is this really how you feel?" she whispered knowing he would hear her.

Miroku and Sango watched on in amazement as Inuyasha jumped down from the tree, scooped Kagome up and settled her on the branch with him.

"When you read it aloud the other night, it struck a chord with me. It described everything I feel about you." the hanyou said softly.

Kagome was speechless. It was then Inuyasha kissed her softly.

"Inuyasha, you're my everything too." thought Kagome as she wrapped her arms around her hanyou.
