Buffy hadn't seen Angel for a few days ans that irritated her. Much more than she'd liked too.

She walked into the Bronze with Willow, Xander coming up to them, wrapping his arms around their shoulders, saying something about Blaine questioning his manhood.

That's when she saw him on the other side of the bar.

Buffy slid from Xander's grasp and started toward him, seeing him give a cute half smile as she walked up to him.

"So.. is there danger at the Bronze?" She asked, "Should I beware?"

'This is quite the 'I missed you,' he thought but he smiled. "I won't stay long."

And again, they bantered for awhile. He thought it was cute.

She seemed irked by his leaving which made him feel alot better.

OoOoO

Buffy was in the library talking to Giles about the strange ring they'd found the night before after she killed him.

And that's when Owen came in.

Buffy knew she liked the dark and mysterious Angel. More than liked even. But again, the man had disappaeared on her again a few days before. No calls, no anything. Plus she hardly knew a thing about him.

So, when Owen came in, she did her best to channel herself away from him and onto this other cute boy. One her age and who she actually saw on a more regular basis.

She decided to try at least with him.

At lunch, of course, Cordelia had to try her man. What a big suprise there. But he suprised her by pretty much asking her out for a date that evening at the Bronze.

Then another big suprise came, Giles having to go ruin it by figuring out this weird prophecy thing.

Of course, that ended up being a bust and they just sat out in the chilly dark night in one of Sunnydale's cemetaries.

Finally even Giles gave up and she was more than happy to hop off the gravestone and head to the Bronze to see if Owen was still there. But their get together didn't exactly how she had planned or wanted.

Owen had his hands full of Cordy when she got there so she decided to just bail and go home.

The next morning she spent complaining about it to Willow or Xander or even Giles any chance she got.

After one of her early classes, she followed Xander out and to his locker after stopping by her own for a moment. Once more complaining about the night before, but that's when Owen showed up, asking about what had happened.

Buffy's mind went into a panic and she tried to think of something up on the spot but it all just came out as mindless babble that was beyond embarrassing but he didn't seem to notice. In fact, he asked her back out. Again to her suprise, and had her smiling and giddy as she mentally started preparing for their night.

She knew Giles would once more love to ruin her well lif. so she stopped by and quickly babbled to make sure he didn't already have some annoying plans for her and ran off, happy it was looking like a slow day vamp wise.

She grabbed Will and Xander and spent the whole time afterschool getting ready with their help. She had showered and got her hair and most of her make up done then started looking for something to wear. Xander being no help whatsoever while the two of them were talking about her choice of lipstick. Willow continued digging around and found what she thought Buffy should wear.

Apparently she agreed but she hurried to put it on along with some boots while making her laugh with following with her joke. She was about to thank her for all her help until next sunday when the doorbell rang. fFguring it was Owen she hurried down stairs.. only to find Giles.

'See. I knew it was too good to be true.'

She tried to get rid of him before Owen got there to no avail. Owen showed up, easily confused as to why the librarian was standing in her house, being overly aggressive about his work. Thankfully, once more, Willow and Xander came to the rescue and they got him out of there so she could have some time with her watcher, who let her go after much conviencing.

She practically made him run to the Bronze to get away before Giles or Owen could change their minds.

Angel had only heard about the Annointed One a few hours ago from Whistler. He hadn't been in Sunnydale for the past two days as he found himself again off with Whistler doing this and that. And as soon as he heard he came right back into town and went looking for her.

He looked around for her at the graveyards and other demonic hotspots, not seeing her at any. He sighed and decided to check the bronze.

Angel walked into the town's club and his eyes immediatly started searching for her. From behind him he heard that Cordelia girl calling him' salty goodness' and looking him up and down from behind. A few short seconds later he heard her coming closer to him.

If it had been Buffy, he wouldn't have minded, but at that moment he spotted her and walked to her, trying to calm the nerves he always had when she was around.

Angel went into his big warning her about what was going down and she seemed to be falling back into some old habbits with the way she reacted, like she didn't care or that it wasn't a big deal.

She tried to walk away but he pulled her gently back, wuite worried about this. She still really didn't seem to care less and despite his effeorts he let it get to him. She apparently didn't think to much of his warnings it seemed. Or about who she was.

Then she just had to point out that she was on a date and who the lucky guy was. He felt his heart sink, his jealousy rise.

OoOoO

When Angel had showed up, Buffy had butterflies in her stomach. She couldn't describe the way he made her feel just by being around him. All thoughts of Owen went right out the window once he said her name.

Of course, he was too much like Giles, wanting to ruin everything good. Which, brought her back to reality.

She tried to shoo him off. and when he got all snippy she explained she was here. On a date.

The tone in his voice had her heart jumping inside.. he sounded.. hurt. But she was still tempered and continued her tirade.

OoOoO

When Buffy's date came over, Angel decided to take him in.. not seeing anything to special in the blonde kid.

He wanted nothing more to tell him to take a hike because Buffy belonged to him but didn't think she would take too kindly to that right now.

He knew she liked him. And he really didn't understand what had changed. why she was out with someone else who was not him. And it bothered him alot more than he would have liked.

OoOoO

Buffy heard Owen come up beside her and did her best to convience herself more than Angel that she was here with Owen because she wanted to be. That is wasn't some hidden mesage that he should get on the ball because she can't pine over him forever.

It didn't seem to be working too well.

She felt her heart sink at the look on his face when she introduced the two to one another. And she couldn't even managed to find her voice to say.. anything.

Apparently she didn't need to however because Xander and Willow then showed up, trying to subtly tell her how giles was in trouble down at the funeral home.

'Ugh! I hate when he's right!' she thought, not sure if she meant Giles or Angel. Or both.

OoOoO

All the while she talked with her friends and to that Owen, trying to piece together what was going on, Angel never took his eyes off of her.

When she told her date that she had to leave, Angel smiled inward. That look on his face.. he deserved it, he thought.

He dragged her off to the side so they could speak in private, yet Angel kept his eyes locked on the slayer. His ears too as he did his best to listen in over the loud noise of the bronze.

Buffy didn't even tell him goodbye. Didn't even look in his direction. Angel started to feel the sadness once more.

She started walking away then turned around.. but her eyes weren't on him. Instead she walked right back up to her date and kissed him.

Angel had to lean up against the stairway behind him just a bit to keep from falling as his knees were wanting to give out.

He took a deep breath and started walking towards him as she once more ran off with her friends.

Angel wanted to hit the boy, to possibly beat him to death, but knew she probably wouldn't like him any more should he do that. Instead he watched until she was out the door, trying to keep his emotions in check.

He was going to go back to where he was currently calling home and kick Whistler out, needing some time to think.
