Another new fic! This is about Alexis before she was ever the Queen of Obelisk Blue. Everybody has to start somewhere and this is the story to why she is close to Zane, how Chazz began to like her and her rise to fame.

Chapter 1: An Introduction of Duel Academy

Duel Academy, it is simply one of the most difficult schools to get into. Anything harder to get into than that is the Obelisk Blue dorm. As you all know, the school has three dorms and you are placed there by your skills or by connections.

The lowest is the Slifers. Many refer to them as the slackers and they are treated badly by all the others above them. Next is Ra. Students with promise are there. Although the Obelisks still treat the Ra students pretty badly, it is thought that the Ra dorm contains smarter people than the Obelisk blue dorm. You’re about to find out why.

The Obelisk Blue Dorm, home to more than 300 students. So yes it holds simply the most students out of all the other dorms. But not all are there because of their skills. You see, about 90 percent of the students there actually bribed their way up to the top dorm.

Why is that? Well, Obelisk Blue is one of the most posh dorms you can find, and of course posh kids will bribe their way for the best treatments. And yes, where there’s money there’s power.

But I’m here to tell you about a story of a girl. Yep, Alexis Rhodes. We all know her as probably one of the most respected girls in Duel Academy, and probably the best female duelist ever. She’s pretty much known as the Obelisk blue Queen, and also hangs out with possibly one of the coolest dudes from the school ever, Zane Truesdale.

But you see, Alexis wasn’t always that popular to begin with. She didn’t just rock up to Duel Academy and become top dog. She earned her title after hard times of suffering. You see, Alexis was a part of the 10 percent of students who did not bribe her way to the top. This is how it all started.

Her brother Atticus is actually in a young talent program for singing. Yep, some groups of producers seem to think that he could make it big in Hollywood, so he began doing TV commercials when he was young. The Rhodes family is actually a working class family and they aren’t very wealthy, so they depended on Atticus to live.

But of course Atticus soon got abducted mysteriously and was never heard from again. Some says it was because of fangirls, others claim it was fanboys. With this, the Rhodes family soon began to go back to their hard life with barely just enough food on the table each night while saving up for Alexis to be able to go and enter Duel Academy for her first year.

Alexis knew how hard and difficult it was for her parents to work so that they may live comfortable lives, so she worked hard in school getting up to Ra yellow and advancing to Obelisk Blue within a few days.

But of course, as was mentioned before, about 90 percent of the Obelisk blue students bribed their way there and worst, pretty much all of them are extremely rich. Remember, this is before she became the Obelisk Blue Queen.

Alexis entered her new Obelisk Blue Girls dorm. Taking a look around, every girl has almost the same image. Well styled hair, Louis Vuitton bags and gold watches surrounded by diamonds.

It was difficult as it was for her not being as rich as them and not having all the best brands and things, but worst of all, the girls there seemed to only talk about how their recent plastic surgery and botox went.

On her first day, she made a new friend, it was a girl named Gabrielle. Gabrielle was also a rich girl but she was the only one who’d talk to Alexis.

“So is this all the girls talk about here?” asked Alexis, who was still trying to adjust to the new environment.

“Pretty much, yeah. The girls here always try to look their best to impress some guys here.” Gabrielle explained.

“Impress someone? Who?” asked Alexis looking around.

“You see, this school, or particularly this dorm, is pretty much run by rich kids.” Explained Gabrielle. “There are about three special kids, or guys, who we refer to as superior. The reason varies quite a bit.”

Just then, a loud squeal of fangirls all yelled “Oh my gosh! It’s them!”

The fangirls all ran to the Boys’ Obelisk Blue Dorm. Three guys entered whilst the girls were shouting praise at them.

The three boys were Aster Phoenix, Zane Truesdale and Chazz Princeton. They entered like princes.

“Those are the guys.” Sighed Gabrielle dreamily whilst staring at them.

Alexis just stared at them; she doesn’t see anything so great about them at all. But then again, she didn’t know who they were yet.

“Let me give you a brief introduction of them.” Said Gabrielle, who was more than happy to talk about the three guys. “First is Aster Phoenix, world’s top duelist. He’s very rich, maybe as rich as Paris Hilton. Smart, very athletic and has a large follower of fangirls. He often charms girls but don’t try to stick your nose into his business, he doesn’t trust girls very easily and is known to break their hearts harshly.”

Alexis giggled a bit at Gabrielle as she spoke since she sounded like one of those dating or match making people.

“Next is Zane Truesdale. One of the greatest and most respected duelists this school has ever seen. He comes here on scholarship and he’s actually pretty rich because he enters so many competitions and stuff. He has many fangirls too, but he’s pretty hard to find. Plus he isn’t the type of person who is easy to talk to. Some says he’s depressed.” Explained Gabrielle in the same tone she explained Aster.

“Oh…”Alexis couldn’t actually stop staring at Zane. There was just something about him that she liked.

“Then there’s Chazz Princeton!” at this point, Gabrielle turned into fangirl mode. “He’s possibly the richest one out of them all! Not to mention the cutest! He’s like the hot leader out of them all with the most fangirls and followers! Rumour has it that the only one richer than him is Seto Kaiba!” squealed Gabrielle

Alexis, however, wasn’t too impressed about Chazz. She was too busy staring at Zane and admiring him. “Sure, whatever you say…” she answered in a daze.

Aster, Zane and Chazz sat at a couch set up for them in the middle of the room. Chazz sat at the middle crossing his legs and his arms. “So… who’s the lucky punk today?” asked Chazz in a sarcastic tone.

“Today it’s a Slifer student.” Said an Obelisk blue student. “Chumley Huffington”

Chazz smirked evilly. “Another Slacker huh? Let’s have some fun! Bring him here!”

Two Obelisk Blue students dragged Chumley and threw him to the floor right in front of Chazz’s feet. Chumley has a really frightened look on his face. He was shaking and it looked really obvious that he was trying to hold back tears. Chazz just laughed at the sight of his peer’s fear. “Please don’t hurt me. It was an accident!” pleaded Chumley to Chazz.

“Gabrielle, what’s this all about? Is something bad going to happen to him?” she asked out of concern. Alexis was new and so she didn’t know what on earth was going on.

“Well you see, this guy Chumley did something that pissed Chazz off. Chazz is the type of person who doesn’t take things too lightly. If something pissed him off, whoever did it will pay big time! Add to that is the fact that he’s pretty much the boss of this school and so everyone will be on Chazz’s side unless they know what’s good for them.” Explained Gabrielle to Alexis. “You see, once you do something bad to him, he declares war.”

“But what did this Chumley boy do exactly?”

“Someone told me that he was eating a piece of orange and as he bit into it, some squirted out and landed on Chazz’s eyes. Of course Chazz became angry. But it was Chumley’s fault, I mean he should learn to eat less like a bear!” commented Gabrielle. She defended Chazz no matter what and you could tell she wasn’t very fond of Chumley.

Chazz stood up and walked over to Chumley. He began hitting him and then gave a signal to the other students. Immediately all the other students began to bully Chumley. They poured a bucket of water on him, threw eggs and toilet paper at him, spat on him and yell curses and insults. Chumley was crying on the floor. Chazz laughed harder, this was all just great entertainment to him. Everybody else laughed too, except for Aster and Zane, they looked bored, Chazz has been doing this stuff for too long and they have seen it over and over again. But still, they didn’t say anything to stop him.

Alexis was horrified, she never thought that there would be a person in this world who was capable of such behaviour. She knew bullying was bad, but this was taking it to a whole new level. She couldn’t understand why a small little accident such as that would earn a person this much suffering and humiliation. It was all too cruel. She glared at Chazz the laughing hyena. He has joy written all over his face at the expense of a person’s dignity. She could no longer withstand it. She ran in front of Chumley.

“Stop it!!!” she yelled. Everyone stopped and stared at her. Even Chazz was amazed. Everyone began whispering amongst themselves. You could hear them saying things like ‘Is that the new girl?’ and ‘what is she doing? Is she another fool?’

Chazz glared and walked up towards her. “You ruined my fun.” He scolded in an angry tone.

“Laughing at a person’s humiliation is not fun, Chazz!” she yelled.

Chazz was again amazed, never in his life has he met a person who challenged him and who’d dared to ruin his fun. “You must be the new girl.” He smirked and stared at her. “Since you’re new here, I’ll cut you some slack. Just quit being a noble, righteous geek and enjoy the show! Unless you’re too much of a retard for that.”

Alexis has had enough, no one has ever said anything like that to her. She raised her fist and hit him across his face sending him flying backwards to the ground. Chazz didn’t expect that at all, in fact no one did. Aster and Zane suddenly paid attention, this was all new. They were quite impressed.

Chazz looked up, his eyes widened. Blood was running from his mouth. He sharpened his glare. “You asked for this…”

Right after Chazz said that, she just realised what she had done. She just declared war against Chazz Princeton and it was only her first day in Obelisk Blue.

Everyone began talking amongst themselves again about Alexis.
