As you see, Reviewers and their reviews mean so much to me. So please, if you can take 30 seconds off of your busy schedules on please give any reviews whether it’s constructive criticism (which I hope I will work well with), or just a jolly “keep it up!”. I promise you it won’t take long. Thank You.
Hopefully this chapter will be good. Hopefully... Drama starts at Chapter 13. We’ll get through it :P
Chapter 10
“Decorating, flowers, bouquets, invitations, food, dresses... when will it ever end?” she thought tiredly. Janice was yet again making a huge racquet at the house. Hinata had managed to sneak out once again without being noticed, but instead, this time she was out for a stroll instead of a drive.
“Ughh, I should’ve brought a jacket.” She thought to herself. It was December, and she was only wearing jeans, and a white zip up hoodie. Her fingers were red from being cold, and she could see her warm breath coming out of her mouth if she blew. She crossed her arms for more warmth. She sniffed as she felt a runny nose about to come. She wished she had a tissue.
She walked a long way.. about.. 10 blocks? She didn’t even think about how she was going to get home! She didn’t know where she wanted to go, just away from her house.
As she was walking, she noticed a familiar expensive car drive by. She realized which jerk it belonged to and kept her head down. She noticed the “jerk”, in a very warm looking jacket, step out of his car, and the door slammed as he locked it. She slightly wished she had a jacket like that, but that was not he matter at the moment.
“Oi Hinata, what’s up?”
She turned to him emotionlessly. “I’m sorry, but I’m not entitled to talk to jerks. Do you see any around here? Oh yes, the one with the ugly face. Ahh.. that’s right.” She continued to walk.
He chuckled and walked to catch up with her. “Why are you so angry?”
She didn’t say anything and continued to walk.
“No seriously Hinata, what’s wrong?” He said in a joking voice.
She still didn’t reply so Itachi decided to tease her.
He played with her hair.
She ignored it.
He pinched her arm.
She occasionally winced, but she still ignored him.
Finally, he embraced his warm hand around hers.
This time she tore away from him and slapped him on the cheek. Hard.
Itachi’s cheek turned swollen and he touched it, slightly wincing.
“That’ll teach you.” She smirked as she continued walking.
“Hey what was that for? You slap me, and then you don’t even talk to me?”
She glared at him. “I’m not the one who told a person he liked her than screw another girl while she was in the same building!”
“Well I only did that because obviously you don’t like me back. What is a guy supposed to do?”
“Well you could’ve shown at least some sincerity to back up your words. And maybe then I’d actually think you’re at least nice!”
“Well, I’m marrying your sister remember? Not you! I’m allowed to screw your sister! What do you want me to do? Screw you instead? Why do you even care?”
“Well maybe I don’t care. And why would I be mad if you screw my sister instead of me?”
“You tell me, isn’t that why you said you were ignoring me?”
“That’s totally different, I’m upset because you have NO sincerity and NO kindness in your heart at all and that’s what you used to back up that you truly liked me!”
“Then why are you yelling and making such a big deal about it if you’re only “upset”?” he yelled at her.
“Because I’m also happy because as soon as you and Janice get married, I NEVER HAVE TO SEE HER, OR YOUR FACE AGAIN!” She replied in a very angry voice. Tears were welling up in her eyes. Why? She didn’t know. But she contained them after. Oooohhh.. He made her so angry! She briskly turned around to go back to her house.
That hurt Itachi right in the heart. He didn’t notice her tears at all, but was he really that unbearable? He didn’t know how to act to girls besides being his flirty self. It wasn’t his fault was it? “This is not the end of it!” he thought to himself.
“Hey you! You with the tantrum! Stop right there!” He walked towards her. His tone had changed from angry to.. who knows what!
“I DON’T HAVE A TANTR- -mpf”
She suddenly felt.. warm. A cinnamony scent surround her as she felt a little bit... woozy? She closed her eyes, memorizing the warmth, wishing it would last forever. Compared to the cold, it felt like luxury.
That was how cold she was.
She relaxed her tensed muscles from her argument and was comforted by the inviting warmth emitting from his body. She had to admit, it felt.. nice.
Itachi couldn’t help but smirk. When he held her hand, he realized how cold she was. Her usually pale hands were red from the cold, and he heard her sniff a little, avoiding a runny nose.
He looked down at her. She looked... comfortable. He felt her relax in his arms.
Hinata realized what the heat source was. She pushed him away with disgust. “Get away from me!” she said in a less angry voice.
“Whatever. You know you liked it.” Itachi shrugged.
She glared at him, and continued to walk home. At least at home she wouldn’t have him bugging her all the time. She stalked faster, hoping to get away from him.
He sighed as he got into his car. He turned on the engine and drove slowly towards her. He rolled down the window. “Hey... get in.”
“I’m sorry, I don’t take charity from ugly men.” She frowned. Why couldn’t he just leave her alone?
“Okay, okay.. I’m ugly, just get in, you’ll catch a cold.” He sighed.
“No.” She walked faster, knowing she couldn’t beat the car anyways.
“Quit being so stubborn and proud!”
She didn’t say anything.
“I have the heater on...”
Hinata paused. She thought for a moment and then said, “...fine..”
He smiled at her. “Good Hinata.” He patted her on the head when she got in, but she looked away in disgust.
When they got to the compound, Hinata didn’t say anything and left. Not even a goodbye, or see you later. Nothing. Why was she so pissed? She didn’t know. She just wanted to get away from him.
Why couldn’t Sasuke just’ve found her? Or Gaara? She hadn’t talked to Gaara for a while, and she needed somebody to vent to. She picked up her phone and called him. No answer. She called again. Still no answer. She sighed. She decided to call Ino instead when her cell phone rang immediately.
“Hello?”
“What?”
“Gaara?”
“Tch..”
“Hnn..”
“You’re in a bad mood.” He said monotonously.
“Wow, you can tell?” she asked. She was surprised he knew her so well and they were on the phone too afterall.
“It’s obvious.”
“Meh Okay.
“Tell me about it... now.”
“Meh.. “
It was true this was why she called him, but she didn’t feel like talking about it anymore. Just because. (Talk about mood swings)
“Is it about Itachi?”
“Wow.. I’m an open book aren’t I?”
“Lucky guess.”
“Oh.”
“What did he do?”
“Meh.. I unno.. this and that.”
“He likes you doesn’t he.”
“…Mind reader...”
“Tch.. What did he do or rather.. say..”
“Longest line I’ve ever heard you say, Gaara.”
“He made a move on you didn’t he?”
“Let me think... another lucky guess?”
“And you slapped him didn’t you?”
“Wow.. that mind reading thing may be annoying.., but it sure saves me a lot of time.”
“Tch.. I’ll kill him.”
“No need, he already admitted he was ugly.” She thought back to the conversation. “That was our bet wasn’t it?”
“Hn.. Guess I owe you a dollar.” He answered boredly.
Hinata laughed. She actually was feeling better talking about it. She wasn’t as pissed.. as expected… when talking to Gaara. Maybe only a little bit annoyed.
“So what’cha doin.” She asked, obviously happier.
Gaara smirked on the other end of the line. “She was so easy to get happy.” He thought to himself. “About to go to work.”
Hinata looked at her clock. “This ear - - “ She was cut off.
“Yes, this early.” Gaara could almost see her pout at him.
“What did I say about mind reading?”
“What did I say about mind reading?”
“... What did you say about mind reading?”
“Tch.. Lucky Guess and It’s Obvious” he smirked.
“Hn… You’re rubbing off on me you know..”
“I know..”

Hinata drove her car and stopped at the red light. In the lane next to her she noticed a familiar car. ….Again.
Itachi rolled down the window. “Hi.”
Hinata rolled down her window too. “Hi.” She said in a sweet sick tone. Then she stuck her tongue at him.
“Well at least you’re feeling better.”
“Too bad your face is still ugly.” She answered smugly. After talking to Gaara she realized she was being a little bit spazzy that day.
“Hah.. Well your face is juuusssttt right to counter it.” He winked at her.
“Oh please Romeo.”
The light went green and she went straight, expecting them to separate. Instead Itachi drove right beside her at the same speed.
“Want to have lunch with me somewhere?” he asked her, glancing at the road from time to time.
Hinata was too busy trying to keep the same speed, and not crash, so she didn’t look at him. She DID reply though. “Are you asking me out?”
“You can call it that, but I’d rather call it, treating my future sister-in-law out to lunch.”
Hinata smirked, still not looking at him. “Nice rephrasing there.” She glanced at the clock in the car. “I guess I could waste an hour or two on an ugly man.”
“Good, see that wasn’t that hard. Follow my car ma’am and I’ll lead the way!” He drove ahead of her, turning down the street, and Hinata did indeed follow.

Hinata laughed at his joke when Itachi tried to catch a peanut in his mouth.
How on earth can Itachi be the flirt she knew only a few days ago? Right now, they were acting like they were best friends for years, when she had just yelled at him that she hated him, two days ago.
“It’s a skill I’m telling you! Only I can do it.”
“Don’t be so cocky Casanova.” She giggled.
Yes, it was certainly a mystery. But then her face went serious. She had been wondering this for a long time, but Sasuke was always uncomfortable talking about it.
“Hey Itachi..”
He gave her his attention.
“Why did you ask Sasuke to rejoin Uchiha Corps.? You both obviously still have some problems with each other.”
“Ahh.. That I’m afraid is top secret.” He winked flirtatiously. “But don’t fret, have a peanut!” he held one up for her, and she ate it.
He laughed. “She’s so cute.” He thought to himself.
Hinata got up and began to put on her coat on. “Well, I’d love to stay - - “
“Then by all means stay.” He gave her his dazzling smile.
Hinata was getting used to him. He was what he was. She couldn’t change him. “I was going to say that I’m meeting Gaara in like.. 10 minutes.” She glanced at the clock in the restaurant
Itachi’s smile turned into a frown. “Gaara? Why?” His tone grew a bit jealous.
“Well.. He is my friend you know.” She laughed.
“Hrmm… Okay.”
She frowned and sat back down. He obviously wasn’t “Okay” with her meeting Gaara. “Do you and Gaara have some sort of bad experience together or something?”
Itachi crossed his arms and pouted like a child. “I don’t want to talk about it.”
Hinata laughed at him. “Cute..”
He stared wide-eyed at her. “Did you just call me cute..”
“Well.. you were cute in that pose….. for an ugly man at least.” She winked at him, mimicking him. She began to feel much more comfortable around him. Strange.. just only after 2 days.
“Well, I have to meet Gaara, I’m late. I’ll leave the ugly man to pay.” She got up and said, “Bye” She waved and exited the restaurant.

Hinata finally got the car parked. She ran up to Gaara at the fountain in the park. “You’re late.” He said, slightly disappointed.
“Sorry,” Hinata gasped, tired from running. She was never really good at that. “I got caught up at the restaurant.”
“With somebody else.. who was it.”
Hinata frowned at him. “Like I said on the phone, stop mind reading!”
“That was hardly mind reading. Like I said, it’s obvious.”
“Whatever, now hand me my dollar! He still admits he’s ugly!”
“He didn’t admit it in front of me.”
“Too bad! He admits it! Dollar please.”
“No.”
“But you said on the phone that you owed me a dollar!”
“To buy you something, let’s go.” He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the shopping street.
“Heyy..!!”
They got over there and Hinata finally spoke up.
“What can you get for me here that’s worth under a dollar.”
Gaara shrugged. “You could always pay me back the extra.”
She frowned at him. “Fat chance. Hand over the dollar.”
“No.” He frowned while he was looking into some of the shops.
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Yes!”
It went on like that for a while… But this was why Hinata liked her conversations with Gaara. It was childish, yes, but that’s why it was fun.
Half-an hour later, Hinata sighed. “Are we done yet? What are you looking for anyways?”
“Something good for you that’s under a dollar.”
“Oh geezzz.. you might as well get me pocky or something.” Hinata pointed at the Pocky store.
Gaara looked at her. “Good choice.” He ran inside quickly to buy a dollar worth of pocky and came back out. He quickly opened the chocolate flavoured pocky package, and stuck a piece over to her. “Eat.”
She sighed and pouted at him but opened her mouth anyways to take a bite.
“You don’t like it.” He said emotionlessly.
Hinata wasn’t sure if he was disappointed or not. Afterall, it was just pocky.. “No, I like it. It’s pocky.” She took another bite from the piece in his hand.
He sighed, went back in and got another flavour. He came back out with strawberry chunk pocky and took another piece out for her to eat.
She sighed and took another bite. “Mrmm.. good..” She said, so he wouldn’t go back in. She took another bite out of the piece in his hand.
He gave her a frown. “You don’t like it.” He said again.
“Gaara.. I said “Mrmm… good..”!”
He ran back in to get his third box of green tea pocky. He did what he did before.
She sighed and took a bite out of the pocky. “Mrmm.. good…” she said it exactly like how she said it with the strawberry chunk pocky.
“Good. You like it.” He gave her a satisfied (creepy) smile.
“Damn mind reader.” She muttered under her breath. He was like a little boy trying to satisfy her that can read her like a book.
“It’s obvious.” He replied to her mutter.
“No it’s not! Now I owe you $2.”
“It’s a gift.”
“How did you know that I liked green tea pocky?”
“It was obvious.”
“No it’s not! How did you know?”
He sighed annoyingly. “I just know.”
She looked down in defeat. “If you don’t tell me, I’m not gonna give you back your $2 dollars.” Hinata thought she saw Gaara’s eye twitch a bit, but he just shrugged.
“And $2 is gonna cost me my life.” He said sarcastically.
“Hey! It can..”
“Hn..”

Aweeeee…. Gaara can tell how Hinata’s feeling. So sweet of him. :)
And his eye twitched because he doesn’t get any allowance from his dad. He needs to work, and he doesn’t get much pay.. in case you’re wondering… :P
Okay, I hope this ItaHina in here was okay. I know Gaara Hinata was better though, but if I end it at the restaurant, I’m afraid I’ll leave you readers unsatisfied.. Just a thought…
Feedback and reviews will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
