Going pretty good so far. I kind of like both the 1st- and 3rd-person perspectives. Maybe you could alternate between them?

1st or 3rd person is fine, just keep writing! And thankfully I know enough French to get by. Notice how I didn't say I understand it completely (I only took one year out of eight) but it's good enough. I like "who's this pretty girl? Your girlfriend?"
