Canada Cowboy 2008-11-16 . chapter 22Great references to TP with Link being taken over and the final chase in a car rather than in a horse. I felt it really brought Link and Zelda together as a couple, and that ending was kind of cute as well.
Now, my problem is that the last scene, aside from the romance and cuteness, was again, weak. Just like "Sensei" you never really addressed the final issues. What will Nohansen say once he finds out about the truth? The six sages dying mean Hyrule will no longer have protectors, so will the people protect themselves? And what about how this so-called myth and the consequences that this has on Link and Zelda? They can't all be hunky-dory after such an ordeal, right?
Overall, this is a bit better than "Sensei" but again, the weak ending spoiled what could have been a great story. I think if you ever return to the Zelda franchise, you need to work on this, as it'll make your stories better. |
Canada Cowboy 2008-11-16 . chapter 20Oh Wow! Here's the final twist! Ganondorf is the one behind all of this, and he's the one creating "The World of Lies" for them. That's amazing how you pulled that twist!
So yeah, I guess those two are on their own, given that they knocked off the sages and therefore eliminated their powers. I really wonder what's going to happen next, because it's going to be a great ending. Plus, how are Link and Zelda going ot explain how or why the sages died, given Nohansen knows about it now? |
Canada Cowboy 2008-11-16 . chapter 18Let me guess: this is the Dark Zelda plot twist, the same one that they had in TP, right? It's an intersting way to get to where it is, since back then they used a spell but now we have a collar. And in both cases, you can't kill Zelda off.
Now, I have a few more criticisms here. So Link keeps getting these cryptic messages from the strager. I know that he's in a pickle and logic will tell him to accept all the help he can get. But shouldn't he at least question who this guy is? We know that it's not easy with him trying to save someone, but it almost seems like he's getting himself more and more entangled in this web of conspiracy.
I don't know, but this story still has many parts and holes not filled in. I'd love to see how you deal with them. |
Canada Cowboy 2008-11-16 . chapter 14Hey hey, would you look at that. Another plot twist, this time with the 3 remaining sages going cooperative on each other and ganging up on Link and Zelda. Personally, I like Naboru and Impa, as the other 4 sages all do something that I feel strongly against. Rauru's too condescending, Saria's too cute, Ruto's too flirty and I don't trust the easy way Darunia tries to make friends (you don't even know Link and now you call him sworn brother in OOT?).
I still have some doubts about what's going on. I mean, with them in the sages possession, it could very well be that there is some twist going on. I think they didn't give the sages enough of a chance to tell their side of the story, unless it's true that the sages *do* want to take over the world. I'll just read on and see what happens then! |
Canada Cowboy 2008-11-16 . chapter 12Eery smilarities between the Fire and Water battles to their respectives counterparts in OOT. Personally, I think it's an intersting touch to have modern weapons like pistols and such involved. The two bullets hitting each other in the air at the exact same time is truly a nice touch.
And Veran's finally found out that something unusual has happened, which tells me that there's more to it than that meets the eye. Were Link and Zelda sspected of Rauru's death? Because they were the last people to talk to him, so I'm guessing it's logical to at least include them in the suspects list. |
Canada Cowboy 2008-11-14 . chapter 8(snickers) I have to say, it was one of the more interesting ways of bringing those two together, although a current idea I'm brewing may come close to this. It doesn't involve a hot spring though...
What I enjoyed most about this chapter is the fact that you went into detail as to why this story came to be. So you had Link start questioning everything around him, wondering whether it's the sages' fault, or how history has been covered up, or even if he himself aided the world of lies by teaching this to his students. Personally, I do feel that it's possible that, with power so concentrated among those six, it's absolutely without a doubt possible that power corrupted them. But still, you might think Nohansen or some others would catch on and stop them before they have a chance to do anything. I think if you elaborated on the period of time in between, a lot of questions will be answered.
Great chapter, and the "exposing bodies" part was definitely a surprise! |
Canada Cowboy 2008-11-14 . chapter 6Two sages dead in two chapters? Wow, you really intend this story to move fast, don't you? Again, I love how you keep the suspense moving, all the while spending just enough time on each character's thoughts to make it realistic. It's a hard combination to work with, but I'm glad you found a good balance nonetheless.
I'm on the edge of my seat right now, so I'm itching to see what happens next! |
Canada Cowboy 2008-11-13 . chapter 4Another interesting idea, with the twist of the sages being pulled. Personally, I always found the OOT storyline a bit duboius, as it seems to leave so many holes. The manga did a better job of filling them in, but I still think it could have been better. Good on you on finding a way to make the entire thing go in reverse.
Now, completely for the sake of argument, I don't really think Link and Zelda should buy into that stuff really easily. Is it really to believe something that has been so-called proven for 10 years? Moreover, even if they weren't the religious zealots of the past (as shown by Nohansen's open royalty) I would think they'd still question what's going on, given that Link's a learned academic and Zelda is full of knowledge and wisdom. I thought they gave in to Agahnim's story too easily, and should have said more to doubt him, or at least provide some opposition to him.
So far so good. I'd love to see what happens next! |
Canada Cowboy 2008-11-12 . chapter 2This is the second long story I read from you, and I must say the way you portrayed the modern Hyrule scene is really interesting. It's almost like a mix of ancient history meeint advance technology.
I love how each minor character gets mentioned in some way, shape or form so far. And the fact the action and suspense is slowly picking up is also pretty good. Personally, I find the premise of "getting a tutor" a bit unusual, since Link probably still has to teach regular classes. How's he going to juggle his life between Hyrule U and the castle?
Anyway, that's all the time I have for now. I'll keep reading on and see what happens next! |
Star Cyber 2 2008-08-06 . chapter 22OMG !
That was some sick, twisted, nasty story ..
..and I loved it!
I admire the way you mix Ancient Hyrule with the modern world,
the plot is awesome too! |
XLight-ShadowX 2008-05-25 . chapter 1I'm speechless, so all I'll say is: "Wow. Words cannot describe."

Ultima the God 2008-04-03 . chapter 3 Way to go! This is a well written fanficton! I love how you brought Hyrule into the twenty-first century! I hope that your other stories are just as good as this one!^.^ |
The Annoying One 2008-03-20 . chapter 22 Nice story. Just read charm bracelet recently. I read Sensei a while back. Your a good authur. You add a little to much exposure for my taste, but hey, have to go with what I can get. This story has some nice plot twists, not as dramatic as I would have made it, but very good none the less. Looking for a good read? Check out Silence-Darkness, Saria's last Song and Odyssey Blade are both really good. He hasn't updated in almost nine months so hopefully he'll update soon. I'll hopefully be following along for your next story.

The Annoying One 2008-03-15 . chapter 2 I read Charm Braclet, One of the best I've read. But I wish you,d use a motorcycle instead of a car, exspecially when you name it Epona. I think it's more suiting. I got the impression from the hoxe that was going around for the next LoZ game; in which link rides one nice motorcycle, named Epona with the License plate EPONA. Until next time.

boardrider66 2008-01-25 . chapter 22An excellent ending to one of the best Zelda fics in this entire section. The car chase was a very clever way to end the story, since this is an OoT and TP sequel, after all. It'll be hard to review, because everyone else has already taken all the good complements. :p
I loved every minute of it. There were some weak points (then again, no story is without one or two), but overall, the plot was strong, cohesive, and very reminiscent of a Zelda game. Every chapter left me wanting for more, and every chapter you never failed to deliver.
For someone who openly admits that this was his first shot at a complete adventure fic, you've one one hell of a job. It shows that you've put much effort into crafting the plot, and it shines through one hundred percent. Not many people can make the sages look evil and Agahnim and Ganondorf the good guys and do it convincingly like you.
For a moment, I was worried that it would be a pattern of find the sage and kill him/her off. But then you threw in that plot twist at Zora's Domain, and I'm glad you did. It added another element of unpredictability, which was a very welcome change. Ganondorf's appearance near the end was the perfect icing on the cake, as his introduction was a very good WTF! moment. And his actions, especially the way he apathetically killed of Agahnim and licked his blood off the blade was such a Ganondorf thing to do.
The Zelink scenes in this story are some of the strongest in your collection. It's true that I was pretty worried about what would happen to the romance, since you've continually stressed that for a good portion of the story, it wouldn't play a very large role. But scenes such as the hot spring, Link's adamant determination to rescue her, and especially the scene inside the library in chapter 21 definitely made up for it. I especially loved chapter twenty-one. It reminded me very much of the Link vs. Zelda fight in TP, and how much I was disappointed that there was no romance in the game. :P The emotion that you put into it, and the way it was told from Zelda's perspective made it that much more touching.
This is by far the best story you've written, and I think we can all agree that this goes up as one of the best in the entire Zelda section. But I have a feeling that Circles is going to usurp that position (hopefully) fairly soon.
I look forward to what you have in store, and I hope that the "early 2008" date for Circles is as soon as I want it to be... like right now. XD
PS: Love what you've done with your blog and how it fits Circles' theme. And I'll be sure to read AWoL Cliff's Notes. |
