Are you out of your goddamn mind?? Maybe not to you, or you may not see it yet, but in any case, that doesn't matter. For one person to beable to reflect on that, and think about 4 pilots who supposedly died, and to fly with them not once, but twice into battle, is not just an honor, or a privilege. It is a once in a lifetime chance that not many people get to take, if any at all. But to see something like that and to aspire to train those coming in behind you is good, honorable, and decent. It means that you know that there is a good and pure hope, light, and cause there to fight for, even though it seems like a losing battle.

For a pilot, there is no other honor than that of flying into battle with legends of old. You and I will do that one day. Maybe not in our lifetime, but we will one day, in another lifetime. Even to fly against legends of old, is an honor. You can ask no better of yourself than what you are capable of. To reflect in such a way that you can reflect, think about it, and teach in that, means you are both skilled, and capable of bringing out the best in your students. To beable to fight against that which brings darkness, means you are a light, a path to a goal.

Legends are not just story tales, myths, or older people. They are us, they are our future children, grand children, great grandchildren, and our successors, and our predeccessors. We are legends in our own right. Those who see war, are there own legends in their own right. Many don't realize this, many don't need to, they all ready know.

Absolutely stunning work. I've only rented and beaten the game once, so hearing the events in this fic even got me nostalgic and slightly teary-eyed. Very fine piece of work, and perfect for a one-chapter fic.

That Story was just wonderful, it was really interesting to read. Too bad there is only one chapter *sigh* oh well, it was a good story anyway.

Too long to hold anyone's attention? This was perfect length, not horribly long and not annoyingly short. And I like the concept too, because in the game, when your flying up against all those enemies and thoroughly rocking them, you don't really take the time to think about what it's like for the other side, the unfortunate pilots that have to fly against you.
